Who will I be driving?

You’ll be driving people to and from their doctor or health appointments. These are not emergency or medical trips, so you don’t need to be an EMT or paramedic. The types of trips often include:

  • Mental and behavioral health appointments
  • Dialysis forsomeonewho has advanced kidney disease– they usually have dialysis appointments three times a week
  • Substance abuse counseling and treatment services
  • A trip to their doctor for primary care or a specialist visit
  • Physical therapy or other forms of rehabilitation

Because their health appointments are scheduled beforehand, we know when and where pickups will need to occur, and we’ll help guide you to the right locations to ensure your success!

Can I drive with Veyo if I’m driving for another rideshare service?

Sure—we don’t need you to be exclusive. In fact, most of our trips occur during the day between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., so we’re a great alternative to the times when many of the other services aren’t as busy. We just ask that you set yourself as “unavailable” in the app when you’re doing other trips.

Do I need special insurance?

You do not need to have commercial insurance to drive with Veyo–your personal auto insurance will work just fine. But we do require that you have additional coverage under your personal policy (it’s oftencalled a rideshare endorsem*nt). For more information on rideshare endorsem*nts, please contact your insurance company.

Does the vehicle have to be registered in my name?

Nope. To become a Veyo Driver-Provider, you do not have to be listed on the vehicle registration. But you will need to be listed on the vehicle insurance.

Can I use a rental car?

Generally, no. Most rental car companies require a rental agreement that excludes commercial use of the vehicle. If you have leased a vehicle from a company specifically for commercial purposes (i.e. rideshare driving), you may be able to use that vehicle to drive with Veyoif they provide thenecessary insurance coverage.

If I’m an IDP, can I drive myself to an appointment?

No, VeyoRide drivers (IDPs) who also have a health plan that is serviced by Veyo cannot drive themselves to their medical appointment as an VeyoRide driver (IDP). This is considered a conflict of interest. If available under your benefit plan, IDPs may register and drive themselves under a mileage reimbursem*nt program offered by Veyo.
