In 2021, he initiated the phase-out of desflurane, an anesthetic gas with greenhouse gas effect, making Keck Hospital a trailblazer in the nation.In 2023, during a trial run of a special software that optimizes gas delivery efficiency of anesthesia machines, Keck Hospital was able to reduce anesthesia-related waste by 73%.
