I have been really into peanut butter recipes lately. Just the other day I shared some really incredible peanut butter and jelly wings. Those wings go great paired with this cocktail, because you really can't have too much peanut butter, can you?
If you like sweet drinks that are easy to sip, then this is the drink for you!
Ingredient Information
This cocktail could not get any easier! You don't need to bring out your saucepan to make a simple syrup, or your juicer to squeeze some citrus. Instead, it is made with a few simple ingredients:
Skrewball Whiskey: Whiskey infused with real peanut butter? Yes, please! If you have not yet tried Skrewball whiskey then it is time for you to go buy a bottle! This isn't a sponsored post. They aren't paying me to say this! You just have to know that Skrewball has the best tasting, smoothest peanut butter whiskey on the market.
As a matter of fact, I even use this whiskey in an amazing fudge recipe!
Jelly: Jelly adds sweetness and a fruity flavor to this cocktail. Select your favorite flavor of jelly! I love strawberry, but blackberry or raspberry would be delicious as well! Really, any flavor that you love would be great! Use jelly instead of preserves or jam, so that the fruit chunks and seeds do not get in the way.
Bitters: The addition of bitters brings out the fruity flavor in the jelly, and adds depth to the drink. I used orange bitters, but any fruit-flavored bitters will work. You could even use unflavored bitters if that is all that you have.
Steps to Make the Cocktail
Step 1: Fill your shaker with ice cubes.
Step Two: Add the peanut butter whiskey and the jelly, then shake a couple of dashes of bitters over the top. Secure the shaker lid onto your shaker.
Step Three: Shake vigourously for 60 seconds.
Some peanut butter & jelly cocktail recipes direct you to turn the jelly into a simple syrup by warming it on the stove with water. That is great, and you can see the FAQs if you want to know how to do that. But in the spirit of keeping things simple, we just use jelly as it is.
Because the jelly is thick it is important that you shake it really well. Shaking a full 60-seconds will help it to infuse with the whiskey so that it is pourable through the cocktail strainer.
Step Four: Pour into a rocks glass over ice. You could also pour into a martini glass, if you prefer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make a simple syrup with the jelly?
Yes, melting the jelly into water will turn it into a simple syrup that works well in this drink. Mix equal parts jelly and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Once it starts to boil, turn the burner off and whisk until the jelly has completely dissolved.
How else can I drink peanut butter whiskey?
Skrewball peanut butter whiskey is sippable on its own. But you could also use it in a peanut butter old fashioned, or try peanut butter whiskey and ginger ale! Some crazy kids also do peanut butter and jelly shots using Skrewball whiskey!

Ingredients
- 2 ounces Skrewball peanut butter whiskey
- 1 tablespoon seedless fruit jelly (I use strawberry)
- 2 dashes bitters (preferably fruit flavored)
Instructions
Add the peanut butter whiskey and the jelly to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Top with a couple of dashes of bitters.
Shake vigourously for 60 seconds.
Pour over ice into a rocks glass, or strain into a martini glass.
Notes
To fully infuse the peanut butter whiskey with the jelly it is important to vigorously shake the cocktail for 60 seconds.
Alternatively, you can turn the jelly into a simple syrup which mixes more easily with the liquor. Mix equal parts jelly and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Once it starts to boil, turn the burner off and whisk until the jelly has completely dissolved. Allow the syrup to cool completely, then add 1 ounce of the syrup to the cocktail shaker.
