Algarve, Portugal (June 4, 2024) – Jon Schauder has been named Troon Executive at Salgados Golf Club in Algarve, Portugal by Salgados’ resort operator, Highgate Portugal, and Troon International. Schauder will oversee golf operations, agronomy and marketing for the Club set along Portugal’s Atlantic Ocean coastline.
A 24-plus-year golf and hospitality industry professional, Schauder has a wealth of experience in managing operations at international golf destinations and is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English. Since joining the Troon family of associates in 2001, Schauder’s career has taken him to multiple continents while leading operations at some of the largest facilities in Troon’s portfolio, including One & Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico and The Clubs at St. James in North Carolina. From 2015 through 2020, he served as the Area Director for Troon International, overseeing facility operations for Troon-managed courses across Europe. In 2019, Schauder co-founded a golf advisory company providing services in Europe, Africa and South America.
